The New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation is the country’s foremost breast cancer education and awareness organisation. It is a non-government funded charitable trust promoting awareness of breast cancer, providing information and education, and raising funds to support breast cancer related initiatives including research, scholarships, medical grants, community education and a breast cancer patient register. The Foundation was specifically established to educate all New Zealanders on the life-saving benefits of early detection and the importance of mammograms.



Safe Passage offers assistance in empowering women to repair the damage from abuse so the violent cycle can be stopped, and helps women develop a positive image and life for herself and her children being a role model for other families.

Athletes vs. Cancer founded by Matt Barns from the Lakers is an industry-wide fundraising program that unites sports, sports fans and the community in the fight against cancer. AVC wants to save lives and assist in ending cancer forever. Through our annual golf tournament and many other fundraisers throughout the year, the foundation will raise money to help secure cancer screening vans to visit low-income neighbourhoods and give free support research, create awareness, provide screening opportunities and deliver subsequent support to cancer patients.

The war has made orphans and refugees of many others, with 1.6 million Ugandans forced into overcrowded camps. Doctors Without Borders named the conflict in northern Uganda one of the top ten most underreported humanitarian tragedies.
